What's New at KRB?On Saturday, October 9, 2010, Keep Rockland Beautiful will host its Annual Awards Gala at the historic PowerHouse (aka Bath House) in Nyack Beach State Park. During the daytime, artists from the region will paint en pleine aire by the river and transform the stone PowerHouse into an art gallery for park visitors to enjoy free of charge. When the sun goes down, we'll light a fire in the great stone fireplace in the PowerHouse, and a limit of 130 registered guests ($75) will enjoy great food, live music, locally brewed beer and a silent art auction, in support and recognition of the great work of Keep Rockland Beautiful Award winners. Click here for more info and to save your spot! HSBC Bank Helps Environmental Education Flourish in Rockland Schools Special Event Recycling - Cleartainers for Loan KRB has nine "Cleartainers" to loan to event organizers who want to provide recycling receptacles for bottles and cans. More units are available from the RC Solid Waste Management Authority. Used at street fairs, music festivals and sports events, placed next to trash cans, the Cleartainers convey a strong "green" message to visitors. Call KRB to schedule your Cleartainer loan, or for more information about recycling.
 | Another Cleanup is in the Bag We're still collecting stray cleanup reports and tallying results, but we can say that, as usual, this spring's cleanup effort was BIGGER and BETTER than ever.
