Garbage – especially plastic waste – eventually makes it to our waterways and then seeps into the food & water we consume. It’s important to me to try and remove as much of this waste as possible before it reaches this point.

It’s super important (to participate in a cleanup). I know personally from doing the eel project in the Minisceongo Creek that the eels, other wildlife and other fish use this waterway, and cleaning up pollution, even if it’s just a few hours,…is super impactful for the environment.”
Going into the clean-up, I thought the primary focus was trash removal. Exiting it, I realize the real value is in the education and experience in general. We’ll never know the impact that may have had on some young kid.
