Veolia Lake DeForest Day

We’re capping off the season with some fun in the sun and a Family Walk / 5K Fun Run.  Come join us for this Keep Rockland Beautiful fundraiser and a unique opportunity to enjoy one of Rockland’s beautiful and important natural resources.

You can also rent a kayak or canoe (or bring your own) all proceeds support Hackensack Riverkeeper. 

Lake Deforest Day Schedule:

(Check-in begins 30 min. prior to each time slot.)

  • 8:30 am: Supervisors Challenge
  • 9:00 am: Opening Ceremony
  • 9:30 am – 11:00 am: Family Walk and 5K Fun Run
  • 9:30 am – 11:00 am: Kayak/Canoe Session 1 (rental)
  • 11:30 am – 1:00 pm Bring your own Kayak/Canoe Session 1
  • 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Kayak/Canoe Session 2 (rental)
  • 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Kayak/Canoe Session 3 (rental)
  • 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Bring your own Kayak/Canoe Session 2

* In the unlikely event Lake DeForest Day is canceled due to extremely inclement weather, your Family Walk / 5K Fun Run donation will continue to support KRB programming, and you may use your donation for padding to one of Hackensack Riverkeeper’s other events, special paddles, or at either of their paddling centers.
