The State of Environmental Education in Rockland report germinated with Keep Rockland Beautiful‘s work in Rockland‘s schools and our eagerness to share the many inspiring examples of environmental education throughout the county. The report acknowledges many, although far from all, of these examples. It outlines some of the real challenges to implementing environmental education throughout the public school system. While our focus is primarily on public schools, there are many examples of environmental education being implemented in the private schools. We have included a highlight of one such program.
